Sky without chimneys
When we think about our future homely house, we usually dream to run away from the noisy crowded city, overflowing with automobiles and all kinds of big enterprises, with their chimneys standing proud in the sky. Sometimes it’s color can not be defined because of the smoke in various shades.
What do we think when it’s time to take care of the way we’ll be heating our home? Paradoxically, but – we’re thinking what kind of chimney to pin up in the sky, so we’ll stay warm and cozy. What color would the smoke be, for us to be heated? Black from coal or petrol, or white from gas or woods? And maybe there won’t be any chimney? Maybe the heating will be electrical? And “ecologically clean”? No, even in that case there would be smoking chimney. Even if it’s not above our building, it would be close – over the nearby power plant. Whether or not, each kilowatt used by us for heating, will “foul” the nature. Every year the humanity is increasingly seen the results of its activity – changes of the climate and natural disasters.
There is a solution. So simple and old, that it can be called ancient – using the sun energy – direct or accumulated in the ground.
A little history:
In 1852 the brilliant British physicist William Thomson has suggested the principle of heat pump for heating something for the first time. Then he assembled the first heat pump – a mechanism, which proved its efficiency. Thomson (received the title “Lord Kelvin” for scientific merits) called his invention “heat multiplier”. Even then Thomson claimed, that the limited energy resources will not allow fuel to burn in stoves continuously for heating and that his “multiplier” will need much less fuel than average stove.
